At Scorpion Bay, we offer Baja’s first exclusive and secure Surfing and Fishing Club at one of the best surf breaks in the world. This is a member only Club and membership opportunities are now available. Our $2 million compound is truly unique and affords our guests first rate accommodations even in a remote place like Scorpion Bay.          By becoming a member of the Club, you and your family and friends will have exclusive use of all of the Club’s facilities and toys. (For detailed information about the Club’s facilities and toys, please click here.) Members have full access to the Club all year round and can visit Scorpion Bay as many times as they want. The Club is so unique to Scorpion Bay because it offers members first rate accommodations and by far the best accommodations in town. There is no longer a need to camp! There is now a new option to be comfortable and dirt free while at Scorpion Bay.

          Aside from the facilites, members will have use to all of the Club’s vehicles as well as professional grade surfing and fishing equipment. The Club even has its own trawler and super ponga. The best part about being a member of the Club is that you will have access to more than you can bring to Scorpion Bay in order for you to make the most of your trip. When you’re pooped from surfing or if the fish aren’t biting, the Club is full of things to keep you entertained. The Club has so much to offer- wireless internet access, kayaks, a pool table, a collection of DVDs, motorcycles, TV, and more. All of this for members of the Club only. I can guarantee that there is not another pool table in San Juanico.

         The Club is a one stop shop for having the best possible trip to Scorpion Bay. And on top of the facilities and toys, the Club also offers members a professional caretaker that is onsite to cater to your every need. From cooks to fishing guides and even shopping for grocer ies, the Club’s caretaker is there to assist members in having a carefree and hassle free vacation.

FOUNDER’S MEMBERSHIP

          The Founder’s Membership is an equity membership and the only equity membership offered. The purchase price is $100,000. Aside from exclusive use of all of the Club’s facilities and toys, Founder’s will receive a number of potentially attractive benefits.

Refundable Membership Deposit. The deposit to reserve a Founder's Membership is refundable.

Family Privileges. The founding member, his or her spouse, and their unmarried children under the age of 24 who live at the member's home, or who attend school on a full-time basis, are entitled to membership privileges without having to buy an additional membership or pay additional annual membership dues.

Transferability. Subject to the Club’s right of first refusal, founding members can sell or transfer their membership to another qualified person or, after 60 months of membership, can tender their membership for repurchase by the Club.

Right of First Refusal.*** Founding members will be given a right of first refusal on any other development project offered to non-Club members by Scorpion Bay Hotel Company, LLC or its affiliate, Punta Puqueña, S. de R.L. de C.V., a Mexican corporation. In connection with such right, founding members will be given an opportunity to resign their Founder's Membership and to purchase an interest in any such project at a purchase price that is 20% less than the price offered to non-founding members of the Club, and to receive a credit of $120,000 U.S. dollars towards the purchase price.

No Assessments. Members are not subject to either operating or capital assessments.

Inheritability. Upon the death of a member, the Founder's Membership can be transferred to his or her spouse.

Club Newsletter. Members will receive a regular newsletter containing information about events and activities at the Club and other items of interest.

***Scorpion Bay Surfing and Fishing Club is owned and operated by Scorpion Bay Hotel Company, LLC and its affiliate Punta Puqueña, S. de R.L. de C.V., a Mexican corporation. The companies have acquired other land at Scorpion Bay between First and Second point overlooking the ocean. The company has not yet decided when or if there will be a development project offered, but the land that could be offered to Founding members and non-Club members is below.

CORPORATE MEMBERSHIPS

         If you have a business that would benefit from being able to use the Club, there is a Corporate Membership available. This membership would allow your business the same benefits as a term membership. The only difference would be an increase in the purchase price due to the increased amount of usage a business would incur on the Club.

MEMBER DUES and RATES

         Each Member will be charged regular Club dues on a monthly basis in such amount as the Club may determine from time to time based on the costs of establishing, maintaining and improving the Club's facilities, equipment and services. Members will be obligated to begin paying dues once the membership fee has been accepted. Dues typically range from $0 to $400.

         A daily usage fee will be charged by the Club for each Member, family member and guest that visits the Club. An additional usage fee may also be charged for certain equipment and services provided by the Club and used by Members, their family or guests while visiting the Club. The amount of usage fees will be set from time to time by the Club. Current usage fees for Members can be found in "The Club" section. Usage fees will be due and payable with the Member's monthly dues unless otherwise approved by the Club.

         The amounts collected in usage fees will also go towards the costs of establishing, maintaining and improving the Club's facilities, equipment and services and should help lower the amount of monthly dues necessary to operate the Club. In this manner, the cost to Members who choose not to regularly use the Club should be reduced.
